In September 2016 we officially launched our inclusive social hub in Athenry. To date, we have received a great response from the community by hosting numerous events including dementia tea mornings, the Galway2020 and Bia Lover festival teams, musical performances on Culture Night and our monthly Cottage Market supporting local craftspeople and food producers.
In 2018, we will be launching more services including our befriending call service to support the elderly at risk of social isolation and a supper club for the community to come together and share food. The project will also help to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
This raffle will help us to raise funds so that we can continue to improve the hub and develop our community garden and BBQ area in time for the summer months. The dome and raised beds in the garden are been built in partnership with the local Men’s Shed group.
