We were successfully awarded Phase I funding through a Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Challenge. This €80k challenge invites applicants to deliver innovative ways to help Cork’s elderly citizens maintain a good quality of life.
Cork County Council together with the Cork Smart Gateway initiative and the Age-Friendly Alliance launched the €80k Small Business Research and Innovation (SBIR) Challenge with Enterprise Ireland in April and since then we have been busy working on Phase I which was completed in December.
Our project is been co-designed with the Age-Friendly council in Mitchelstown. If successful in Phase II we will develop a pilot study in the town to investigate the feasibility of modern ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) networks to help allow older citizens to maintain a good quality of life and enable them to remain and feel secure in their home.
